Portia is one of my foundation does and matriarch of the Purple House; any goat wearing a purple collar here is descended from her. Her promising breeding career was cut short in 2017, when a disastrous kidding of quintuplets left her at death’s door. She has proven to be a warrior, though, and with the help of an army of vets and a river of antibiotics, she is still with us, getting stronger every year.
She will never be bred again; and will live out her life here in pampered retirement. Three of her daughters here carry on her genetics: Halo, Lucy, and Tink.
